Media Release: New Catchment Plans to Roll out under LLS

Minister for Primary Industries Katrina Hodgkinson announced five more regional

Catchment Action Plans (CAPs) have been upgraded and approved to guide the next period of catchment-focused operations.

“The Border Rivers-Gwydir, Hunter-Central Rivers, Murrumbidgee, Northern Rivers and Southern Rivers Catchment Management Authorities (CMAs) have worked with local communities, councils and stakeholders to upgrade and refine their CAPs,” Ms Hodgkinson said.

“CAPs are strategic plans to manage priorities and targets for natural resource

management within local catchments over a ten-year period.

The updated plans include:

mapping priorities for investment and action to maintain and improve resilient landscapes; and
stronger collaboration with communities, stakeholders and relevant government partners.
