The Private Lands Conservation Grant Program aims to encourage and support private landholders with long-term voluntary conservation commitments to undertake on-ground conservation works on their property.

The Program is a partnership initiative of the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, Paddy Pallin Foundation, Humane Society International Wildlife Land Trust and the Office of Environment & Heritage. The Minister for the Environment recently announced that the NSW Environmental Trust will provide significant funding over the next six years to extend and expand this initiative, providing a funding pool of over $300,000 in 2012.

Landholders with the following commitments are eligbible to apply:

• Level 1: Conservation Agreement under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974, or Trust Agreement under the Nature Conservation Trust Act 2001, or in-perpetuity Registered Property Agreement under the Native Vegetation Conservation Act 1997


• Level 2: Incentive in-perpetuity Property Vegetation Plan under the Native Vegetation Act 2003, or Wildlife Refuge under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974.

Landholders with Level 1 Agreements can apply for up to $5,000 per year, while those with Level 2 Agreements can apply for up to $1,000 per year, for a maximum of three years (paid annually).
